    Description"1907 Winchester Model 07 S.L.", belonged to Arkansas Department of Correction, Cummins Unit. Serial Number 41221 stamped on left side and bottom of receiver; 351 caliber self loading (also referred to as semi-automatic) rifle with 5 round magazine, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1921 (per manufacturer's date/ serial number database at www.oldguns.net). Barrel markings on left side: MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO., NEW HAVEN, CONN U.S.A. SELF LOADING MODEL O7 PAT AUG 27. - 351 CAL., DEC. 10, 01. FEB. 25, 02. FEB. 17, DEC. 22, 03. AUG. 21, OCT. 30, 06. JULY 5, 10, WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-.
    Barrel markings on right side: MADE IN U.S.A.
    Top Markings: Initials "WP" set within a circle
    Tang (Shank) Markings: WINCHESTER TRADE MARK, REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. & FGN.,

    Free stamped on left side of receiver:
    CUMMIN UNIT.
    ARK. DEPT. OF CORRECTION.

    The number 8 is also stamped into the stock on the bottom left side and the under side. The number 8 most likely indicated this as a specific gun within the prison's collection.
    The '07 became popular for use in law enforcement, however it was also the preferred weapon of outlaws such as Bonnie and Clyde, Machine Gun Kelley and John Dillinger.
