James Clarence Wakeley, better known as Jimmy Wakely (he dropped the second "e" as a teenager), was born on February 16, 1914, in Mineola, Howard County, Arkansas. He was a country western singer and actor from the 1930s through the 1950s. Wakely appeared in radio, movies, and television. Wakely released 15 studio albums, which included his two most popular country singles, "One Has My Name (The Other Has My Heart)" and "I Love You So Much It Hurts," both in 1948. From 1949 to 1952, he appeared in a series of comic books published by DC Comics as "Hollywood's Sensational Cowboy Star." He appeared in over 65 films and TV episodes. Wakely died on September 23, 1982 in California.
Black and white card features a vertical image of Wakely holding a revolver and wearing a white cowboy hat and neckerchief. It appears as if Wakely is leaning against a saddle.
