James Clarence Wakeley, better known as Jimmy Wakely (he dropped the second "e" as a teenager), was born on February 16, 1914, in Mineola, Howard County, Arkansas. He was a country western singer and actor from the 1930s through the 1950s. Wakely appeared in radio, movies, and television. Wakely released 15 studio albums, which included his two most popular country singles, "One Has My Name (The Other Has My Heart)" and "I Love You So Much It Hurts," both in 1948. From 1949 to 1952, he appeared in a series of comic books published by DC Comics as "Hollywood's Sensational Cowboy Star." He appeared in over 65 films and TV episodes. Wakely died on September 23, 1982 in California.
Also featured in the film are "Cannonball" Taylor and Kay Morely. The yellow movie poster is trimmed in white with blue, black, and yellow print. The poster depicts Wakely in cowboy attire -- a red shirt, a greenish neckerchief, and a white cowboy hat -- with gun drawn, standing behind a fence. "Outlaw Brand" is written across the center of the poster in yellow print trimmed in black on the fence rail grasped by Wakely. The bottom left corner shows a blue-tinted image of a western band playing instruments. The top right corner in green. The bottom left of the poster portrays Kay Morley.
