DescriptionA quilt with the pattern of "Four Hearts" made by African-American artist Mary Bluford Turner.The quilt is machine pieced and hand quilted with 12 blocks. Each block contains a four-sided heart (Brachman # 9.8 Four Hearts, 4-way symmetry), blanket stitched in black thread in the center. It has a white background with solid red sashing. There is a double border at the top of the quilt.
