DescriptionQuilt made by an Arkansas African-American quilter, Mary Bluford Turner. The quilt pattern is titled, "Tapestry" and is assigned the Brachman No. of #2824 or "Scrapbag" #2825. Using a floral motif fabric in shades of red and blue with a white background, this quilt has a red 1" binder, 8" border with a diamond block pattern, and a central pieced diamond block medallion. The quilt is machine pieced and hand quilted. It has a multi-pieced muslin back. The quilting design is concentric/Celtic loops and outlining of the pieced 2"x2" blocks. The quilt is quilted with white cotton quilting thread.
Note: Family date for the quilt does not fit the condition or types of materials used. Evaluator gives the approxmiated date for c. 1980.
