    DescriptionMargaret Bailey's gown she wore during the Inauguration of Carl Edward Bailey as the thirty-first Governor of Arkansas on January 12, 1941. The dress is made of embossed silver lame' and features a halter top and high empire waist. The dress is shirred in a knot in the front center at the bust, where an empire waist falls beneath. The back falls to the natural waistline with a flat bow at the center. The halter top is formed by straps that attach at the back of the neck. The skirt is floor length and flared, falling into folds at the hip line. The dress is an original Kalmour Gown and was bought at M.M. Cohn Company in Little Rock, Arkansas.

    Margaret Bristol Baily was born in 1892. She married Carl Edward Baily on October 10, 1915. She died in 1975.
