    DescriptionWhite elbow-length kid leather gloves belonging to Margaret Bailey, wife of Governor Carl E. Bailey. The gloves have three buttons at the wrist with one missing on the left glove and two missing on right. Staining and deterioration are located on both.

    Margaret Bristol Baily was born in 1892. She married Carl Edward Baily on October 10, 1915. They had six children five sons and a daughter. As the thirty-first First Lady of Arkansas, Margaret worked towards providing free schoolbooks for all children and she participated in the United Service Organization (USO) during World War II. Margaret died in 1975.
