DescriptionA photograph of Mr. and Mrs. Winthrop Rockefeller and the wedding party, the morning after the wedding on June 11, 1956. The wedding party includes Rockefeller's brother, Nelson A. Rockefeller (left), Ann Bartley, Jeannette’s daughter (second from the left), Mr. and Mrs. William Edris, Jeanette's father and stepmother (third and fourth from the left), and Bruce Bartley, Jeanette's son (right). The wedding took place at Jeanette's parent's lake house on Hayden Lake in Idaho.

Winthrop Rockefeller was born on May 1, 1912 in New York City, New York. Rockefeller moved to Morrilton, Arkansas in 1953, founding Winrock Farms and entering into state politics shortly thereafter. In 1955, Governor Faubus named Rockefeller to the Arkansas Industrial Development Commission. Rockefeller lost the 1964 Governor's election to Faubus before becoming the thirty-seventh Governor of Arkansas in 1967 and subsequently reelected in 1969. Rockefeller married Jeanette Edris on June 11, 1956, but went on to divorce her in 1971. He died of pancreatic cancer on February 22, 1973, in Palm Springs, California.
