    Description1851 Colt model Revolver, .36 caliber. Navy Cap and ball, Serial # 85472. "Address Col. Sam Colt New York US America" stamped on top of barrel. "US PATENT NO 114961" stamped on chamber and on trigger. Seven and half inch octagonal barrel with attached loading lever. The serial number suggests this gun was made in 1858. Varnished walnut grip.

    Between 1850 and 1873, a total of 215,348 were manufactured.

    This pistol was Colt's prime medium caliber handgun in the percussion period.
