    DescriptionColt dragoon revolver, 1848, first model. .44 caliber, unfired. Handle is made of ivory and brass. The cylinder has a series of engraved images (battle scenes of U.S. Cavalry and Indians). Signed in embossed lettering "W.L. Ormsby/New York/Colts Patent U.S." above the trigger. The serial number is 2701 - the number is found four times underneath gun (handle and areas behind trigger). Address: "Sam L. Colt New York City".
