    DescriptionA pair of shoes worn by Anne Price Roark Brough, wife of the Twenty-fifth Governor of Arkansas, Charles Hillman Brough. The shoes are in the Mary Jane style and feature black satin, beadwork, and a one-inch heel.

    Anne Brough was the twenty-fifth First Lady of Arkansas, 1917-1921. During World War I, Anne served as an active Chairman for the Woman’s Auxiliary of State Council of Defense, the Red Cross's supply- making sessions and Liberty and Victory Loans. Anne also made appearances at Suffragette Rallies in support of the right for woman to vote in the United States.
