    DescriptionMabel Parnell's silk black gloves she wore to the Inaugural Ball celebrating Harvey Parnell as the twenty-ninth Governor of Arkansas in March of 1928. The elbow-length gloves feature thumb guards that would have been worn when hands were uncovered. Short gloves fitted over them to give a gloved appearance.

    As twenty-ninth First Lady of Arkansas Mabel Parnell, sat of the Board of the Florence Crittenden Home and Arkansas Tuberculosis Association. Mabel was born in 1885 in Desha County, Arkansas. She died on June 7, 1964.
