James Clarence Wakeley, better known as Jimmy Wakely (he dropped the second "e" as a teenager), was born on February 16, 1914, in Mineola, Howard County, Arkansas. He was a country western singer and actor from the 1930s through the 1950s. Wakely appeared in radio, movies, and television. Wakely released 15 studio albums, which included his two most popular country singles, "One Has My Name (The Other Has My Heart)" and "I Love You So Much It Hurts," both in 1948. From 1949 to 1952, he appeared in a series of comic books published by DC Comics as "Hollywood's Sensational Cowboy Star." He appeared in over 65 films and TV episodes. Wakely died on September 23, 1982 in California.
The poster depicts a scene from the movie where Wakely is facing a man dressed in a brown suit, his gun drawn and pointed at Wakely. Wakely is wearing a black cowboy hat, red and black shirt, black jeans, and yellow leather gloves. He is standing alongside three men and a woman in a barn. The woman is wearing a white shirt and black skirt. One of the men is seated on the ground and is covered by a green blanket with his arm in a sling. The bottom of the card has a blue design with white lettering that reads "Jimmy Wakely" in the left corner and the title of the movie in the right corner. The card is trimmed in off-white.
