DescriptionAnvil paperweight. The anvil is on top of a block containing images and writings on all four sides. On one side is the profile of Thomas Jefferson. Above his profile are the words "Thomas Jefferson." On the another side is the writing "Worlds Fair 1904 St. Louis." Another side contains the words "Signing the Purchase Treaty" with an image of three men. The last side has The Louisiana Purchase Treaty that is partially rolled up at the bottom and the document exposed drapes over the top side of the square block (underneath the anvil) and partially folds over the opposite side of the block. The Treaty exposed shows signatures, one being Madison, and a seal.
