DescriptionThis is a souvenir plate purchased at the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis. The plate is white with a blue ink pattern displayed on the front. An image of Thomas Jefferson in the center of the plate. On the top of the plate are the words, "World's Fair" in bold and on the bottom of the plate "1803 Souvenir Plate" also in bold. To the side and on the left is the U.S. flag and on the right side is the French flag which signifies the Louisana purchase between the U.S. and the French. On the back of the plate in the center are the words, "Registered by the Victoria Art Co., New York, St. Louis, Saratoga Springs." There is a picture of an eagle with a ribbon around him. On part of the ribbon is "ReNo 433446" and on another part of the ribbon is "Made in England." Plate is the larger one of the set.
