James Clarence Wakeley, better known as Jimmy Wakely (he dropped the second "e" as a teenager), was born on February 16, 1914, in Mineola, Howard County, Arkansas. He was a country western singer and actor from the 1930s through the 1950s. Wakely appeared in radio, movies, and television. Wakely released 15 studio albums, which included his two most popular country singles, "One Has My Name (The Other Has My Heart)" and "I Love You So Much It Hurts," both in 1948. From 1949 to 1952, he appeared in a series of comic books published by DC Comics as "Hollywood's Sensational Cowboy Star." He appeared in over 65 films and TV episodes. Wakely died on September 23, 1982 in California.
The ad is printed solely in yellow on an off-white background and contains several scenes from the movie. The largest image depicts a scene in which Wakely is aiming his pistol in a hold-up position. Wakely's name is prominently displayed across the middle of the ad. The ad states the following: "Fist Fighting! Hard Riding! Six-Shooting! ...set to rhythm!" at the top left corner and "Hear Jimmy sings his latest recorded hits: 'Mine All Mine' 'Night After Night' 'This Old White Mule of Mine.'" The ad contains two folds and has nothing printed on the back.
