DescriptionAn heirloom quilt in the "Tapestry" pattern made by African-American artist Mary Bluford Turner from Tamo, Arkansas. The Brackman number for the pattern is # 2824 or #2825. The quilt binding is back turned front with a varying 8"-6" border section on 3 sides of the quilt. The pattern squares consists of a variety of scrap fabrics cut into 2"x2" pieces and then sewn into strips. The central pattern medallion measures 67"x67". The back consists of two pieces of muslin sewn together with a faded blue-green stripped fabric sewn to the back top section. The quilting pattern is an outline of the individual squares and the stitching is 3-4 per inch.The quilt has been hand pieced and hand quilted making it an heirloom crafted quilt.
