DescriptionA "Strip" quilt made by African-American Arkansans quilter Callie Mae Carter. It was made between the 1930's and 1940's. The quilt is made of different strips of colored fabric that have been patched together in squares with long strips of blue, yellow, and red and white checkered fabric. Two sides of the outer edge are white and the other two sides are purple. The longer strips of blue, yellow, and red and white checkered fabric run across the entire quilt creating an overall thatched pattern.
