    DescriptionChild's oak rocker with a veneer seat and bent back. Straight arms with two turned supports. Turned front and rear legs with single stretchers. Made by Grandfather, Charles Westphal, for his first grandson (donor). Used by donor, Frederick Westphal, as child at home, 2425 W. 12th St. Little Rock.

    The Westphal family immigrated from Germany in the 1870s and settled in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. They are one of three of the original settler families in the area.
