DescriptionA comic book entitled "The Aventures of Alan Ladd," featuring Hot Springs native Alan Ladd.Alan Ladd was born September 3, 1913, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and lived in Arkansas until around the age of five. He was an actor who appeared in over 80 films and was one of the most recognizable celebrities of the 1940s and '50s. He starred in such films as "Two Years before the Mast," "The Blue Dahlia," and "The Great Gatsby." However, Ladd is perhaps best known for his role in the 1953 western movie "Shane." Ladd died on January 29, 1964.
Issue number 6, August-September, of "The Adventures of Alan Ladd" comic book series, which was published by DC Comics and featured Arkansas native Alan Ladd. The front cover has an image on a yellow background with red, green, and black lettering. The featured image shows Ladd fighting with a man; a woman is sitting to their left and looking away from them. "The Adventures of" is written in black ink above the image followed by "Alan Ladd" in large red block lettering. The comic contains 52 pages and has an advertised cost of 10 cents.
