DescriptionLobby Card from the movie "Song on the Range," starring Mineola native Jimmy Wakely.

James Clarence Wakeley, better known as Jimmy Wakely (he dropped the second "e" as a teenager), was born on February 16, 1914, in Mineola, Howard County, Arkansas. He was a country western singer and actor from the 1930s through the 1950s. Wakely appeared in radio, movies, and television. Wakely released 15 studio albums, which included his two most popular country singles, "One Has My Name (The Other Has My Heart)" and "I Love You So Much It Hurts," both in 1948. From 1949 to 1952, he appeared in a series of comic books published by DC Comics as "Hollywood's Sensational Cowboy Star." He appeared in over 65 films and TV episodes. Wakely died on September 23, 1982 in California.

The card features an image of Wakely riding a horse that appears to be slightly rearing. Wakely is wearing a brownish cowboy outfit and his holding his hat above his head in his right hand while holding onto the reins with this left hand. A lasso is tied to the saddle on Wakely's right side. The background of the image shows dirt and trees. "Monogram Pictures presents / Jimmy Wakely" is printed in white against a blue rectangle background in the upper left corner. The title of the movie is printed along the bottom of the card in yellow lettering against a red background.

The lobby card has a 2.5-inch vertical tear from the bottom center.
