DescriptionArt Deco color postcard of the Chicago Stadium which held the the 1932 National Democratic Convention. Franklin D. Roosevelt was nominated at the 1932 convention. In black print at the top of the postcard: "52:-Chicago Stadium, Chicago, ILL".

Handwritten in ink on the back:
"This is where the big show begins tomorrow. It is really a very wonderful building and when it is filled with 25,000 excited howling men and women, we should have a very colorful and most interesting circus. How I wish you could get into the thrill of it with me. I have an extra admission ticket that was really hard to get and I'm just holding on to it - pretending it's yours. Isn't that a funny freak of sentiment? Well, just you and I know about it. I think it's fun to have secrets - just you and me. Don't you?"

The stadium was located at Madison and Wood Streets and was at the time, the largest sports arena in the world.
