DescriptionBadge from the Grand Army of the Republic. The Grand Army of the Republic was a society for Union veterans.The top tier is a pin in the shape of a building with two official seals on both sides of the building. At the bottom of the building: "Boston/1904". The second tier is round with "GAR" in red, white and blue letters. At the top: "Representative". A medallion hangs from the second tier. In the middle of the medallion is a raised relief image of a man. Around the image: "38th National Encampment G.A.R."
