    DescriptionSlip with train, pleated hem and net lace trim belonged to Anne Brough (wife of Governor Charles Hillman Brough, 1917-1921.) Material is discolored from white with brown stains throughout. Slip measures 63 x 22 in. (160 x 55.9 cm) including train. Fastened with hook and eye closures.

    Anne Brough was the twenty-fifth First Lady of Arkansas, 1917-1921. During World War I, Anne served as an active Chairman for the Woman’s Auxiliary of State Council of Defense, the Red Cross's supply- making sessions and Liberty and Victory Loans. Anne also made appearances at Suffragette Rallies in support of the right for woman to vote in the United States.
