    DescriptionSpent artillery shell casing. The shell was fired on October 25, 1964 at President Herbert Hoover's funeral.

    Stored along with the casing is an index card upon which is a brief written history of the object. "This round was fired Oct. 25, 1964 in Nation's Capitol during to "Salute to the Nation" At the state funeral of the late President Herbert C. Hoover."

    The artillery shell was found inside of the Faubus trunk, 2010.014.01, along with other miscellaneous items.
    The top portion of the case is rusted. The casing is a brass cylinder with black printed lettering along the side.
