    DescriptionAn 8" Naval columbiad, 63 cut, 1841 model United States Navy shell gun manufactured by Leeds and Co., of New Orleans, Louisiana. The cannon was brought to Little Rock, Arkansas from New Orleans, Louisiana by Confederate troops early in the Civil War. During the Civil War, it was placed on the north side of the Old State House facing the Arkansas River. It was relocated to the south lawn during the Brooks-Baxter War as a show of Brooks' force. Upon the return of Governor Baxter to the Old State House, the cannon was fired once as a salute.
