    DescriptionCarte de visite of brothers Ernst and Moritz Wuerpel. Ernst was a Captain, Company C, 43rd (Consolidated) Illinois Infantry. Moritz was a 1st Lt, and Regimental Quartermaster for the 43rd (Consolidated) Illinois Infantry. Both would resign before the war was over.

    Rectangular piece of light brown card stock paper with a smaller rectangular image adhered to the front. The image depicts two men seated in chair next to one another. The man on the right has his right arm around the shoulders of the man seated next to him. Though the reverse of the carte is blank, the album inscription identified the two men as Ernst and Moritz Wuerpel.
