    DescriptionCarte de visite of General U.S. Grant. Grant was a Civil War general and later became president of the U.S. from 1869-1877.
    Rectangular piece of light brown card stock paper with a smaller rectangular image adhered to the front. The image depicts an oval portrait of a man in a Union military uniform. Beneath the original place of the image in the album is the handwritten inscription "General U.S. Grant."
