DescriptionSouvenir spoon featuring Ft. Smith, Arkansas, circa 1917. The Wallace sterling spoon is gold washed. The bowl of the spoon is engraved with Ft. Smith on the inside and 1917 on the outside. The neck of the spoon is inscribed with "Arkansas" in block letters. The handle is decorated with the State seal on the top front of the spoon with an engraving of the Old State House underneath. The base of the spoon is engraved with June 16, 1836 which is the date of statehood. The back of the spoon is engraved with a likeness of the State Capitol with an engraving of the Confederate Monument beneath. The gold wash is worn on the reverse end of the bowl.
