    DescriptionJeannette Rockefeller's suit dress she wore during the Inauguration of Winthrop Rockefeller as the thirty-seventh Governor of Arkansas on January 10, 1967. The ensemble was designed and produced by Coco Chanel and consists of a jacket, straight skirt, and coordinating shell blouse. The neckline, center front, and hem of the jacket are trimmed with blue and silver braids. The princess line front jacket features long set-in sleeves as well as a straight silhouette. The skirt has a six gore front and two gore back and falls to below the knee in length. The Chanel outfit was purchased at Neiman Marcus in Dallas, Texas.

    Jeannette Edris Rockefeller was born on July 13, 1918 in Seattle, Washington. Jeannette married Winthrop Rockefeller on June 11, 1956. Jeannette divorced Winthrop in 1971. She died on December 7, 1997 and is buried in Seattle.
