    DescriptionElizabeth Little's dress she wore during the January 18, 1907 inauguration of her husband, John Sebastian Little, as the twenty-first Governor of Arkansas. The dress is a two-piece garment made of black silk that is covered with a sheer net and Chantilly lace. The full bodice has a band collar that is covered with Chantilly lace. Two bands of the lace extend downward from the yoke and are joined with two narrow strips of silk which extend to the waistline. Two silk flowers accent the joining of the silk strips to the lace. Bands of the Chantilly lace accent the midriff of the bodice, the sleeves, and the skirt. The set-in sleeves are three-quarter length and the cuffs are bound with Chantilly lace. The floor length skirt is gored with black fullness and at the bottom; a 10 inch ruffle is trimmed with two narrow bands of velvet at the hem. The dress came from the Gus Blass Company in Little Rock, Arkansas.

    Elizabeth Jane Irwin Little served as the First Lady of Arkansas from 1907-1909. She was born on April 3, 1861 and died on September 15, 1953.
