    DescriptionTintype and frame of John D. O'Brien. The image is held beneath a gilt frame in a hinged wooden box. The exterior of the box is covered with embossed leather. The image depicts O'Brien standing with his arms at his sides, dressed in a suit and some sort of Masonic regalia.

    John O'Brien was born Sept. 2, 1827 in Ireland. He entered the war at the age of 34 as a 1st Lieutenant in Co. F of the 25th Arkansas Infantry in 1862. He was promoted to Captain during the war. He died April 27, 1913 in Little Rock, Arkansas and is buried in Cavalry Cemetery in Little Rock.
