DescriptionLetter from Arkansas Territorial Governor John Pope to James Blaine, Chicot County clerk and ex offices recorder, requesting that Blaine deliver to Aaron Goza three notes of $400 dollars to be deposited by Aaron Goza and payable to John Pope for the purchase of land.

The letter transcribed:

Sir
You will please deliver to Mr. Aaron Goza the three notes each for four hundred dollars deposited with you by Mr. Goza for my benefit & payable to me as Governor of the Territory of Arkansas & [illegible] in office - he having paid the amount to C. Ashley my agent [illegible] the interest.
