    DescriptionFormal Arkansas Territorial document - Aaron Goza application to Gov. Pope. The top part of the document states Aaron Goza received $1200 in full for three notes due in March, 1834-1836. This was given to Goza by order of Arkansas Territorial Governor Pope. Written by Chester Ashley. The bottom part of the document shows this has been officially recorded by the Chicot County Court clerk/recorder, James Blaine Clark. Recorded in Record Book B, page 113-114 on July 31, 1835.

    The letter transcribed:

    1834, July 30th Received of Mr. Aaron Goza twelve hundred dollars in full for the three notes due 1st March 1834, 1835, 1836 (without interest by order of Gov. Pope) whom handed to Mr. Goza an order given by Gov. Pope to James Blaine to deliver said notes to A. Goza.

    I James Blaine Clerk of the Circuit County Court and Ex Officio Recorder within and for the County of Chicot, State of Arkansas, do hereby certify that the foregoing instrument of writing was filed in my office for record on the 22nd day of May A.D. 1835 and that the same is now duly recorded on record.
