I thank you for your kindness to my friend (Moody?) which I think you will never regret. I do not know that he was ever a whig, certainly not a fiery whig but he may have been a sort of Tyler Whig. He is (?) and deserving and was appointed at my (?insistence) and I should have been notified of his removal. He has been attentive to his duties without (governing?) in party politics. (Stone?) is again a candidate in my district and will, I think if elected, he will have my aid to defeat the whig candidate. The Louisville district will I think send a democratic representative. Everything looks well for this administration. They have only to be faithful to the country to secure the support of the people. With high respect, Your friend,
