James, Maxine, and Bonnie Brown, together known as The Browns, were an American country and folk vocal trio originally from Sparkman, Arkansas. The Browns are best known for their Grammy- nominated hit, “The Three Bells”, from 1959. Other hits include “Scarlet Ribbons”, “The Old Lamplighter” and “Big Daddy”. The siblings appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show and Dick Clark’s American Bandstand. In 1963, the Browns joined the Grand Ole Opry and in 1967, they disbanded.
An album by The Browns entitled "The Browns Sing Their Hits". The album cover features a color photograph of Maxine, James and Bonnie Brown on a blue fading background. The women are wearing large diamond earrings and blue dresses while James is wearing a dark blue suit, white dress shirt and blue tie.
