    DescriptionThe match safe is a souvenir of the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis. It is embossed with a scene of Native Americans surrounding a center medallion which bears the official flag of the Exposition. The piece is nickel over brass. The center medallion and a laurel wreath wrapping around the medallion is brass. The ends of the match safe are ridged match strikers. "Official flag" and "St. Louis 1904" are minted around the official flag of the Exposition in the medallion.

    Found inside the match safe werw several address lables for "Dale M. Brown, Youngstown, OH." Also found was a small newspaper article about a Smithsonian Institution exhibit of matchsafes. Article dated Jan 28, 1986.
