    DescriptionTwo escutcheons that were found on site at the Old State House. The brass escutcheons are rectangular in shape with each having four small holes on each corner for screws and two large holes in the center for the doorknob and key lock. In the upper portion of the escutcheons, a shield is depicted with images of an eagle, an angel, and the words "Mercy", "Regnant Populi", and "Justice". The escutcheons have beveled edges.
