    Michael Dale Huckabee was born on August 24, 1955 in Hope, Arkansas. In 1996, Huckabee was sworn in as the forty-fourth governor of Arkansas. Huckabee was reelected in 1998. During his time as governor he led campaigns to rebuild the state highway system, pushed for Arkansas's tobacco settlement to be used for the state's health care system, and also began a push for educational reform. Huckabee and his wife currently live in Florida.
