    DescriptionTypewritten letter to Patsy Montana from Kenneth Carpenter dated August 21. 1944. The letter is expressing appreciation for her appearance at the Victory Matinee broadcast. Type is in blue and letter is unsigned. "Treasury Department" appears in the top cemter. Beneath is "War Finance Committee." In the upper left corner is a seal of the office of State Chairman. In upper right corner a rectangular image advertises war bonds/stamp. t the bottom is the handwritten message "Thanks, Patsy, for a swell show from a fine trooper! Buzz Wells" in black ink.

    Patsy Montana was born Ruby Rose Blevins on October 30, 1908 in Beaudry, Arkansas and grew up near Hope, Arkansas. She was a singer and musician. She performed on various national radio shows including the popular, National Barn Dance”. She also appeared in several movies. Montana died May 3, 1996.
