    DescriptionSix string Martin D28 guitar, silver pick guard inscribed "Country Music Magazine Presentation Medal #1 Johnny Cash Silver Anniversary July 1980". "CMF Martin" on neck. The guitar was the only black custom guitar made by the Martin Guitar Company and was presented to Cash from the Country Music Magazine in 1980.

    Johnny Cash was born John R. Cash on February 26, 1932 in Kingsland, Arkansas and raised in Dyess, Arkansas. Nicknamed “The Man in Black”, he was a singer/songwriter, actor and author (writing two autobiographies). He acted in both movies and television (including his own variety show, The Johnny Cash Show). Cash died September 12, 2003.
