DescriptionCommerative Medal consisting of two brass pieces and a ribbon. Top brass piece is in shape of an eagle sitting atop sword, two crossed cannons and group of cannon balls. A pin is attached to the back of the top piece. The bottom brass piece, attached by a U.S. flag ribbon, is in the shape of 5 point star. At the center of the star is a circular seal, depicting a U.S. soldier shaking hands with a Native American. Border the seal in raised lettering, "Grand Army of the Republic/ 1861 - Veteran - 1865."
