DescriptionBarbara Pryor's dress she wore during the Inaugural Ball celebrating David Pryor as the thirty-ninth Governor of Arkansas on January 14, 1975. The dress is made of green silk chiffon and features a deep 'V' neckline. Soft chiffon folds gather and fall from the neckline to the waist, which is accented with a brown ribbon that is tied in a bow at the center front of the dress. The full, floor-length skirt is gathered into a slightly raised waistline at the front that tapers to a lower waistline in the back. The gown has a bell-shaped silhouette and the bishop sleeves are sheer and gathered into a cuff at the wrist. The dress was made by Richilene in New York City, New York.
