    DescriptionA handkerchief used by Margaret Cherry during the Inaugural Ball celebrating Francis Cherry as the thirty-fifth Governor of Arkansas on January 13, 1953. The handkerchief is made of net lace with lace filigree along the border and accents of silver sequins.

    Margaret Frierson Cherry was born on August 21, 1912. She attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where she met her husband, Francis Adams Cherry. Margaret served as the thirty-fifth First Lady of Arkansas (1953-1955). They married on November 10, 1937; they had three children. Margaret died on July 7, 1990.
