    DescriptionA handkerchief used by Estelle Adkins during the Inaugural Ball celebrating Homer Adkins as the thirty-second Governor of Arkansas on January 14, 1941. The handkerchief is made of pink Georgette crepe and features a square pulled design.

    Estelle Adkins was born on July 31, 1889 in Hermanville, Mississippi. She married Homer M. Adkins in 1921. Estelle served as the thirty-second First Lady of Arkansas from 1941 to 1945. She also was a Registered Nurse and used her skills during WWII in recruiting for the Army Nurse Coups and the Red Cross. She also volunteered for the American Legion. She died on November 13, 1985.
