    DescriptionThe "Lawyers' Reports, Annotated" Volumes 1-70 set from 1892. This set belonged to Governor Jeff Davis. Brown cloth bound books with black label at top "Jeff Davis." Underneath is a brown label with "Lawyers' Reports, Annotated", then red diamond label with book numbers. Black label with "book number, 1892, L.C. P. CO.", red label with "With Authorities 1905" are both located on the spine. All lettering and numbers are in gold. [Milton G. Robinson, Attorney at Law, Stuttgart, Arkansas] stamped in the inside front cover.

    Jefferson "Jeff" Davis was born in Rocky Comfort, Arkansas on May 6, 1862. Davis served as the twentieth Governor of Arkansas from 1901 to 1907. Although his administration was said to have "produced more politics than government," Davis succeeded in building a new state house and reforming the penal system. Davis passed away on January 3, 1913 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
