    William Asa Hutchinson was born on December 3, 1950 in Bentonville, Arkansas. He graduated from Springdale High School in Springdale, Arkansas in 1968. In 1975, Hutchinson received a J.D. from the University Of Arkansas School Of Law in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Prior to attending law school, he met his wife, Susan Burrell, while earning his undergraduate degree at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. Hutchinson won his campaign for United States Congressman from the Third District of Arkansas in November 1996 and held his seat until 2000. After resigning from Congress and serving in other federal roles, Hutchinson won his 2014 gubernatorial campaign with fifty-five percent of the vote. While in office, he became a key leader on energy, security and education.
