    DescriptionA World War I poster promoting Third Liberty Loans dated to 1917. The colorful poster depicts a group of colonists standing around Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. The colonists are cheering for the Liberty Bell and the Third Liberty Loans. The Liberty Bell is located in the top left corner and in the top right corner is "Ring it Again" in capital red letters. Below the Liberty Bell in capital black letters is, "Buy U.S. Gov'tT Bonds" and in a banner along the bottom is "Third Liberty Loan."

    Liberty loans/bonds were sold by the United States government during WWI as a way to finance the war. Citizens would by the bonds, which loaned the money to the government, and the government would repay them at a later date.
