    DescriptionA lobby card for the 1946 movie "Blue Dahlia" starring Hot Springs native Alan Ladd. Along the left hand side of the lobby card are the names Alan Ladd, Veronica Lake, and William Bendix in capital white letters on a blue background, below is a woman sitting and below her is "The Blue Dahlia" in bold, capital blue letters on a white background. The center of the card has a color photo of three men dressed in suits and ties surrounding a gentleman sitting. This sitting gentleman is also wearing a suit and tie however, his jacket is unbuttoned and his tie is not straight. Along the bottom of the card in yellow text on a blue background is "a George Marshall production. With Howard da Silva. Doris Dowling. Tom Powers. Frank Faylen. Produced by John Houseman. Directed by George Marshall. Written by Raymond Chandler. A Paramount Picture." And in the bottom right corner is the Paramount Pictures logo. The small text at the bottom reads, "Copyright 1946 Paramount Pictures Inc. Country of Origin U.S.A. Property of Nation Screen Service Corp. Licensed for display only in connection with the exhibition of this picture at your theatre. Must be returned immediately thereafter. 46/617."

    Alan Ladd was born September 3, 1913, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and lived in Arkansas until around the age of five. He was an actor who appeared in over 80 films and was one of the most recognizable celebrities of the 1940s and '50s. He starred in such films as "Two Years before the Mast," "The Blue Dahlia," and "The Great Gatsby." However, Ladd is perhaps best known for his role in the 1953 western movie "Shane." Ladd died on January 29, 1964.
