Lester Brocklehurst was born in 1914 in Knox County, Illinois to Lester and Edith Brocklehurst. He became known as the "crime tourist" after being found guilty of a crime spree through eighteen different states, which consisted of approximately 40 robberies and the murder of three men. Brocklehurst was captured in 1937, along with his accomplice girlfriend, Bernice Felton, and transported to the Tucker Prison Farm in Tucker, Arkansas. He was sentenced to be electrocuted by "Old Sparky". Brocklehurst was executed on March 18, 1938 at the age of 23.
